Discuss protagonists and build empathy for their respective experiences
Participate in and reflect on a breathing exercise
This class engages Participants around questions of perception, empathy, and interpretation through discussion of a short film depicting a young child whose parent is in the hospital with a serious mental illness that includes psychosis. Participants will be asked to reflect on the experiences of each of three main characters of the film in order to shed light on how delusions can result in different realities not just for the person experiencing them, but for those around them, as well. The class concludes with a breathing exercise designed to release difficult emotions and support grounding and centering before Participants leave.
