"Alcohol, Tragedy, and Hope" is based around a short film that explores how alcohol use disorder can, in certain circumstances, lead to tragedy. Students are invited to read and reflect on a handout that reviews the symptoms, risk factors, and treatment options for alcohol use disorder, which they will use to understand and interpret the story told through the film. After watching the film, students will be led through a series of structured questions that will prompt them to consider what can lead to the misuse of alcohol, as well as strategies for resisting temptation and overcoming addiction.
