"Locus of Control and Our Wellness" asks Participants to reflect upon the psychological construct of Locus of Control and autonomy. Students will read and reflect on the definitions of Internal and External Locus of Control and the roles they may play in our lives. Using that knowledge as context, they will watch a short film that illustrates an athlete's experiences of autonomy after he begins to lose his eyesight, impacting his ability to participate in sports in the same way as before. The class ends with an opportunity for Participants to reflect on the experiences of the main character in the film, and engage with a Free Write exercise to consider how they are impacted by locus of control.
