    Participants will be able to:

    • Describe examples and attributes of resilience

    • Analyze resilience as depicted in a film

    • Reflect on personal strengths through Free-Writes

This class is built around a short documentary film in which the protagonist acknowledges the trauma she’s experienced (in her case through sexual violence) but rather than letting it define her, she chooses to define herself in other powerful ways. In this class, students will watch the film "Unfolding" as an inspirational example of the strength we have inside us and, through discussion and personal writing exercises, will explore what it means to look within and find what truly makes us free.
