Participants will be able to:
Reflect on their personal transitions to college or university life
Draw conclusions about protagonists and consider connections to their own professional experiences through reflection and discussion
Set intentions to foster connections between students in collaboration with colleagues
This class is designed to offer staff and faculty professional development around student experiences. Participants will watch short films that follow students who are just starting at a new school; one film with a student who comes from a very small town and another featuring two international students. Participants will have the opportunity to consider and discuss ways to support students in making meaningful connections.
